this is one of my favorite of my own songs. and certainly one of the best love songs i've written. i woke my wife up -she wasn't yet my wife then, we had been living together for maybe 6 months at that time - at 2 or 3 one morning and said, "listen to this. i just wrote you this song." she loved it. she cried. she made me play it over and over again, as though she were trying to memorize it. cg
